Smartboatia was never built to be a navigation system. We set out to turn your boat’s sensor data into real insight, an automated logbook, trim advice, a way to keep an eye on your boat from anywhere. But once you combine live boat data, sea charts and a real time map in one place, the next step writes itself. That step is the Plotter.
One Screen, Everything You Need
The Plotter is a dedicated navigation screen with live instrument tiles right next to the chart. Connect to your Hub and it opens automatically, so you are never more than a glance away from your position, your course and the data that matters most right now.
Route Planning Made Simple
Draw a route with the built in distance tool: a multi segment ruler that docks to your GPS position. For every leg, you instantly see distance, bearing and ETA based on your current speed. Passed waypoints clear themselves from the route, so your plan always reflects what is still ahead of you.
Your Data, Your Way
Instead of one fixed layout, the Plotter gives you a side panel you can shape around how you sail. Swipe through three pages: a radial gauge for live instrument readings, your boat’s polar diagram and a dedicated trim advice view.
On top of that, pick and choose from a growing set of widgets, including:
- Distance and ETA to your next and last waypoint
- Course over ground and bearing to the next waypoint
- Target VMG and VMG to waypoint
- A wind rose widget with true and apparent wind direction
- Leeway and speed through water
- A logbook status field that jumps straight into your logbook
Want to see your battery voltage next to your heading, or your polar performance next to your ETA? Arrange the widgets that matter to you and leave the rest out.
Built for Being Underway
Drag your anchor point right on the chart to reposition your alarm zone. Zoom in far enough to see your position and nearby objects in detail. Tap any AIS vessel for its details without losing the map, and now see AIS aids to navigation too: buoys and beacons shown with their real IALA symbols at their exact position.
Charts and polar data both work offline. Once downloaded, your charts stay with you even without a connection, and polar data loads straight from your Hub over WiFi, no sign in required.
Part of the Bigger Picture
The Plotter is not a separate app bolted on, it is the home screen for anyone connected to a Hub. It sits alongside your logbook, your trim advice and your boat monitoring, all built on the same data from your boat.
Right now the Plotter covers Nautical Charts for Germany and the USA, included in the Standard plan, with more regions joining this autumn, including Spain, Portugal, Croatia and more. Step by step, the Plotter is becoming a genuine co-pilot for the whole journey, not just a way to check the weather before you leave the dock.
Fair winds!
